Om kurset

IATA cat. 6 kursus er et avanceret 5 dages kursus, hvor undervisningen veksler mellem teori, teoretiske opgaver og en del praktiske opgaver relateret til pakning og mærkning.

På kurset undervises efter seneste udgave af IATA DGR, og du skal bruge denne for at besvare prøven. Du er velkommen til at medbringe din egen bog, men vi kan også tilbyde, at du lejer bogen (500 DKK) under kurset. OBS: Kursusmateriale, opgaver, prøve og IATA bogen er på engelsk, og undervisningen foregår på en blanding af engelsk/dansk. Det er nødvendigt at kunne forstå engelsk på 9. klasse niveau for at kunne følge kurset.

Kurset afvikles i samarbejde med DG Safety Group og er naturligvis godkendt af Trafik-, Bygge- og Boligstyrelsen.


Course Objectives
• Gain the competencies required to properly accept shipments containing dangerous goods for
air transport according to the current edition of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR)
manual. Apply the IATA DGR manual, perform the responsibilities involved in handling and
accepting dangerous goods.
• Understand the legal responsibilities involved with the transportation of dangerous goods.
Course Description
• This course will be presented with the use of handouts, slides, video’s, practical exercises,
group discussions and games.
• The course will finish with an open-book examination.

Prerequisites
• This course is suitable for people with previous DG awareness.
• The IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations and all course materials are presented in English.
• The classroom facilitation can be given in English, Danish or Swedish.
Duration
5 Days (40 hours)
Learning Outcomes
• Understand the basis and applicability of the IATA DGR
• Understand the limitations and apply the states and operation variations
• Identify the 9 hazard classes
• Apply the applicable special provisions
• Apply the provisions for packing, marking and labelling of dangerous goods shipments
• Complete the transport documentation (dangerous goods documentation and air waybill –
AWB) and any other accompanied documents
• State the relevant emergency response and reporting procedure
• Handling and acceptance procedures
• Security provisions
• Perform the responsibilities involved in accepting, storing, loading and inspecting Radioactive
Material
Certificate and further training
A Certificate is awarded upon successful completion of the course and scoring a minimum of 80%in the
final exam.
Note: There are two examinations at the end of this course. One for normal DG training approximately.
4 hours and one for radioactive material approximately2 hours.
In order to keep this certificate validated, recurrent training must be provided within 24 months of the
previous course. This also ensures knowledge is up-to-date.
